Former Pompey striker Benjani Mwaruwari is close to finally sealing a contract at a new club after being released from Pompey in the summer.
The Zimbabwean striker failed to impress during his second Fratton Park coming, and was subsequently released by Pompey boss Michael Appleton, having been re-signed by Steve Cotterill before he departed.
The Fratton hero has joined Supersport United in South Africa and told Sky Sports of his delight to be back in the country where he started his career.
Benjani said: “I had great years in English football, I am happy to have played in the Premier League scoring goals against top teams in the league such as Manchester United for Manchester City.”
He went on to say: “I hope to score goals for Supersport United, I learnt my football with Jomo Cosmos in this country and hope to succeed in the club.”
Benjani made 94 appearances for Blues in two separate spells, scoring 20 goals.
